Oh! That Pouty Lips!

You can disagree with me but I think pouty lips are exceptionally sexy.    Angelina Jolie and Anne Curtis often enthralled people’s attention because of their pouty lips; lucky for them as they are naturally blessed with those glamorous lips.

But to get that kind of lips is now a piece of cake with the wonders of makeup, innovative product and technology.   If you opt for a permanent one then go for a surgery but if you wanna just have them on occasions then go for that lip plumper products or better yet the easy on the pocket  method “let make up do the trick”.

So here are the steps of that trick I gathered from my make-up artist friends which you might be interested to try:
  • Exfoliate your lips-you can try this with a toothbrush don’t put a toothpaste J just wet the brush with water and gently brush on your lips.
  • Put a concealer on your lips
  • Line your lips with a nude liner or the one that matches your favorite lipstick or gloss. Create the new line as close to your natural lip line as possible, subtly thickening the appearance.
  • Color your lip with a lipstick and dab a little concealer on the middle part of your bottom lip.
  • Add a lip gloss
  • And voila your pouty lips are now set

Losing Weight After Pregnancy

It’s been almost a year since I gave birth to my daughter and here I am still on the process of getting rid the extra pounds I packed during my pregnancy.  I was just  112 lbs before I got pregnant and a month after I gave birth I was  127 lbs.  And now my little one will be turning 1 in a month but still I have not yet gotten back my pre-pregnancy weight.  Don’t ask me if I did dieting and exercising, because I already cut off pork, fried food and chips.  And lugging around a baby all day is itself a workout for me already. Oh well, I lost 6 lbs by the way  from 127 I am now 121 though that means I still have 9 lbs to discard.

I know losing weight after pregnancy is a plodding process unless of course you will get a magical “zap” from a cosmetic surgeon.  But I trust that there are moms who don’t have to go through the “ordeal” of a no-carb diet and unyielding exercises to get back that voluptuous body in a matter of 4 months or so after giving birth.  I’ve seen this with at least 2 of my friends and their common denominator? they’re still in their early 20s when they gave birth and one more thing, their originally slender.. lol.

So I guess my age and my body type are the main contributing factors why it took me so long to lose weight.

Don’t you think so?

How I take care of my face

I confess that I have this fetish in taking care of my face.  Maybe because I grew up watching my mama as she did her daily beauty regimen and had maintained wrinkle-free and glowing face until the age of 60.   And the amazing thing is, she did not use any beauty product in the market.   Everything was natural.

Obviously, I copied her beauty ritual which are cleansing daily with mild soap, exfoliating twice a week with young papaya leaf and moisturize with banana paste mixed with milk and honey(leave on face for 20-30 min. then rinse).  However, because I’m a lazy bum I made some modification on the stuff she used;  and also I have some supplementary things that I realized my face loves.

So here’s my own beauty regimen:
A.    Daily
  •          Cleanse with facial foam
  •          Tone ( I don’t rub my face, I kind of massage the cotton ball in circular motion)
  •          Moisturize ( I still use the banana paste sometimes, but often do this with olive oil or moisturizing cream)

      B. Twice a week
  •          Exfoliate with oatmeal
  •          Avocado paste ( still a moisturizer but I leave this on my face 30 min- 1 hr.)

And  " Don't sleep with your make up on" and "Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day"  probably trite but totally helpful.

Choose Ur Makeup style ds Summer 2011

Make up I should say, plays an imperative role in the entirety of one’s look.  A Stylish outfit without makeup is just like a salad without dressing…..bland.

Makeup trends and styles allow women with varied taste of fashion and ages to select makeup which suits their personality, outfit and occasion.
For this summer season here are the makeup trends and style we can choose:

Natural Makeup
Choosing to create a light and natural makeup can be the greatest and easiest option you have.
Use a foundation to create a flawless looking skin, enhance your eyes using mascara, apply a small amount of blush on your cheekbones to emphasize them and optionally. I normally use bronze or beige color for this look.   Apply a clear lip gloss on your lips or a matte nude lipstick to make your lips stand out.

Bold Lips

Bring in those kissable lips of yours with bright lipsticks.  This year you can go for bold shades such as red, raspberry, orange and hot pink. Find the hue which suits your skin tone bests.

Colorful Eyeshadows
This season’s trend doesn’t only allow you to be bold with your lips but with your eyes as well.  If you are the person who loves to accentuate your eyes then go for this trend.

Faded Smokey Eyes
Smokey eyes are a classic makeup style. So it’s pretty much always ‘in’ with minor changes. However, in this year’s summer season smokey eye is faded.

How to wear Maxi Dress

I have always been fascinated with Maxi Dress and wearing one was just a castle in the sky for me.  I thought that maxi dresses are only designed for women who are blessed with height and curves, until I’ve read some tips from various sites on who can wear and how to wear them.

Maxi dresses for petite women

·                     A maxi dress can make you look shorter and even wider when not being able to choose the best cut for your body type. Look for a maxi dress that has a full length that hugs well on your body.
·                     You can do away with structured maxi dress that has a well defined waist (empire waist). You can also use a belt and wrap it around the thinnest part of your waist.
·                     Elongate your body with a v neck maxi dress.
·                     Wear pumps, wedges, or high heeled sandals.
·                     Maxi dresses with black, olive green, deep purple, and dark brown works best. Light colors are okay but as long as it is a solid color that still draws a straight line to your body.
·                     Avoid horizontal and large patterns.
·                     Cuts that are suitable for your body: straight, A line, and bias cut.
·
Maxi dresses for plus size women
Long dresses works well with this frame because it minimizes large legs and waist.
·                     For women who have wide or big busts, look for a maxi dress that has a thick strap or even a halter type dress. Take note that spaghetti straps makes your upper body larger because of the contrasting proportions.
·                     Medium to large prints are good for your body type, but solid colors such as black, olive green, dark brown can help you slim down.
·                     Look for dress that has a v neck. This will help you create a vertical line.
·                     Maxi dresses with loose-type designs can make you even bigger. Choose a dress that fits closely to your body but not to clingy to help skim your curves.

Maxi dresses go well with flat sandals or high heeled sandals.

So finally, my first time ever wearing my maxi dress with a 3 inches wedge sandal J

I chose this color to match the wedding motif of my friend, and chose the style & satin cloth to fit the elegance of the occasion.  Well, I hope I made the right choice J

Festival Queens of Cebu 2011

Went to SM late afternoon today with my two friends for a quick shopping before going home.  However, our plan to just spend couple of minutes in SM was extended to hours as we saw ladies on parade with their fascinating and exotic outfit. We found out that it was a contest named “Festival Queen of Sinulog 2011” in which designers from different parts of the Philippines showcased their magnificent creation.  Sinulog is a yearly celebration of Cebu City in honor of Sr. Sto Nino which devotees from various places in the country express their praise and worship of the child Jesus through street dancing and apparently became a tourist attraction.

Lesson learned ?  Truly you can not always stick to your plan lol

Here are some pics…enjoy J

Eat all you can Grapes

Eating grapes today and the memory of the Grape Farms in Yamanashi, Japan flashes back.

‘Twas September of 2008 that I was captivated by the amazing grape farms along the road on the way to Kofu City (capital of Yamanashi). Looking the grapes alone had already given me a mouth-watering experience. From green, purple, to burgundy colors with oval and circle shapes; tiny, medium and big sizes “eat them all you can.” When I went there I didn’t eat lunch “this is how greedy I am when it comes to grapes” (lol). And when I said “eat all you can” it only cost me $18.00 without time limit.

Oh! how I love to go back there to eat those juicy and very yummy grapes again.

When you plan to visit Japan between mid August and September, you shoulod include Yamanashi-ken as one of your destinations.
